Magic Lantern slide circa 1900 hand coloured. created in 1887. A tour of North Wales. 20 Bangor Cathedral—interior.—This is an embattled cruciform structure, having a low massive tower, crowned with pinnacles but destitute ot all richness of ornament. Like the exterior, the architecture of the interior is very simple and pleasing, as may be seen by the view before us. Bangor Cathedral is dedicated to St. David, and has suffered a very great deal from contending parties, having been destroyed three times, and left more than 90 years in ruins. The w'ork of restoration was commenced in the reign of Henry VII, and finished under Sir Gilbert Scott. The view shews choir and nave.
